| 17 | Motions submitted under Standing Order 29 Review of Football Provision Across Falkirk Council notes: " The recent qualification of the Scotland men's national football team for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, and the continued growth of women's and girls' football in Scotland; " The important role grassroots football clubs play in improving health and wellbeing, promoting inclusion and providing positive opportunities for young people and families; and " Concerns raised by local football clubs regarding increasing pitch hire costs and the long-term sustainability of grassroots football within the Falkirk Council area. Council therefore agrees to instruct officers to undertake a review of football provision across the Falkirk Council area and report back with findings and future options. The review should include: " Pricing structures for grass and astro turf pitch hire; " Comparison with neighbouring local authorities and other sports; " Consultation with local football clubs and stakeholders; " Assessment of the social and community value delivered by clubs, including opportunities to grow participation amongst women, girls and under-represented groups; " Potential targeted support for clubs delivering significant community benefit; " Review of the quality and capacity of existing facilities and future investment requirements; and " Opportunities to secure external funding through the Scottish FA, sportscotland and other relevant partners. Council further instructs officers to provide options based on: 1. Maintaining the current approach; 2. A sustainable development model with moderate investment; and 3. A high-investment model aimed at significantly improving participation and facilities across the Falkirk Council area. Proposed by Councillor Redmond. Deputation Request An application has been made by Ian Dibdin and Steven Aitkenhead, on behalf of Central Football Academy, to be received as a deputation to be heard in respect of this item of business.
